Our major export partners are Japan, France, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, China and Netherlands. The major primary imports are crude oil, chemicals and machinery

The secondary major imports are Iron, Steel, Textiles, Motor Vehicles and manufactured goods. The major import partners are South Africa, United Kingdom, Zimbabwe, and Asia.

The privatization of the key government controlled companies in the country over the last decade that included the mines, brought in an influx of new investments. The level of new investments is welcome and encouraging. It points perhaps to recognition by the outside world of Zambia's potential with its political stability being a contributing factor.
